Building on the resounding success of our first inaugural Kita Mereka 1.0 in 2023, Kita Mereka 2.0 promised to be an evening of elegance, inspiration, and communal creativity, surpassing all expectations and setting a new benchmark for what we can achieve as a collective.

The core of Kita Mereka 2.0 was the Awards Ceremony, a moment to pause and honor the brilliance and innovative spirit of our creative hubs. Like the stars that light up the night sky, each awarded hub shone brightly, celebrated for their contributions to our vibrant community. Just like last year, here are 5 creative Hubs that are appreciated, honoured, and recognised in their own unique categories. These are the ones to watch for in 2024 and beyond!
- Best Boundary Breaker: Polydextrous Studios, for constantly running out of the box events and Experiences to express creativity
- Best Upcoming Hub: Shibari Malaysia, for being a young Hub that's rapidly gaining popularity and love from the community
- Most Consistent Hub: Kuno Foods, for not missing a beat and constantly enlightening the community with food skills
- Hub of the Year: Tiffin At The Yard, for being the top performing creative hub on the Mereka platform
- Best Community Support: Dabble Dabble Jer Collective, for actively working with many artists by providing a platform to share their stories and skills
A Gatsby-Inspired Extravaganza
Taking a leaf from the grandeur of the Met Gala, and the allure of the Roaring '20s, Kita Mereka 2.0 embraced a playful Gatsby theme. This thematic choice added layers of elegance and excitement, inviting attendees to step into our space with style and poise.
Adding a dash of competitive excitement, the "Best Dressed" competition celebrated personal expression and style, rewarding the flair and finesse of our attendees. With categories for Male and Female participants, the competition was a highlight of the evening, culminating in the winners receiving each RM100 Mereka Workshop vouchers to a CNY Ornament Laser Cut Workshop.

From the flash of the photo booth capturing the night's joy and camaraderie, to the rich tapestry of social mingling, the event was a testament to the power of connection. Creativity in Action
To give the evening some accent, there were interactive workshops, a special session on Mirror Painting, provided a hands-on experience for attendees, allowing them to not only paint mirrors with a variety of painting tools, but keep them! These workshops underscored the essence of Mereka: a place of learning, sharing, and growing together.
